You bet.
Mala Estrella is a Spanish translation of Lucenera, the debut graphic novel by Barbara Baldi, originally published in 2017 by Oblomov Edizioni. (What a cool name for a publishing house. I always liked Oblomov.) The publicity for the book said «El cómic que leerían las Brontë» (“The comic that the Brontës would read”).
Ah, if they only could. Mala estrella is clearly a work of a 21st century artist. And it’s a work of such time-transcending brilliance that it should appeal not only to the generations to come but also to the generations gone by. So yes, I do hope the Brontës would read it. Not only read: recognise and see with new eyes the beauty of their country, enjoy, re-read, enjoy some more, and purchase plenty of Ms. Baldi’s books for presents to their friends and relations. That’d be nice.
